About Us

Established in 1920, the charity was funded posthumously by Edwin Gyde of Painswick, Gloucestershire.

A large part of his estate was left to an Orphanage in Gyde House, Painswick, under the title Gyde House Charity. A further fund was set up to assist visually and hearing impaired children.

When the Orphanage closed in 2000, the house was sold and the proceeds were invested to amalgamate the resources of both charities.

In recent years, grants have been made for specialist equipment including hardware, software, wheelchairs and sensory equipment.
